Respondents, fifteen individuals owning residential and farm properties in Gentry County, Missouri, sued ContiGroup Companies, Inc. (PSF) for temporary nuisance caused by PSF’s large-scale hog farming operations. The alleged nuisance stemmed from ill-smelling odors and other emissions emanating from the hog farms between 1999 and 2010, substantially impairing Respondents’ use and enjoyment of their properties.
