i worked in a b-school adcomms office that also did snail mail Rs until a new dean came in and scrapped that
it's pretty shitty for the applicants who aren't admitted, not to mention a waste of paper
isnt today the deposit deadline? or is it the 15th
legallyexhausted

@SplitterusClitterus: I think it's the 15th.

Okay, so my portal saying letter has been sent is likely the R?
It is an R, yes
You can call or email them and ask for the letter
@legallyexhausted: thank u!
but I got DLS too and got a WL email. anyone else?
both at the same time I think

Requiescat in pace to those who have fallen. May the odds be in your favor this week. Buona fortuna to all.

DLS plus WL email the same day means WL, but the DLS is never a good sign. likely, low-priority WL

Does anyone know how they announce if you are on the waitlist and they reject you? Do they send you an email because if they sent you a DLS for a waitlist how do you know if it changes to an R.
Victorious
15:53
And does everyone who has a waitlist also have a DLS change the same day?

Not sure about others, but today, 5/13: my status changed to DLS and I received WL email

@legallyexhausted: for such an amazing school with such smart people you would think they could make a less confusing process.

But since stanford said that their class is already full, doesn’t this mean that they likely won’t take any WL’ed applicants? Also a WL applicant here but doing a reality check

saw on reddit the class is overenrolled

@Victorious: legallyexhausted is correct. when added to WL, you typically (although there may be exceptions bc their process is so opaque) see the red DLS update at top and get the WL email the same day. with Rs, it's just DLS and a letter via postal mail. unbelievably terribly process. thank god for LSD, which provided me with some clarity

the thing about these schools is, like anything else, however great they are or are perceived to be, there are still run by flawed individuals and comprised of individual parts. e.g., once i accompanied a close relative to the mayo clinic to address their health issue. the individual physicians were universally awful, but the seamless process of the diagnostics and work of the technicians was wonderful. that's my absurdly long way of saying, stanford and similar schools may be generally great, but they are far from perfect

Well, today is deposit day! Hoping that there can be some movement for us on the WL!

anyone know whether SLS has specific preferences for number of pages and spacing in the LOCIs?
AgonizingFadedDwarf
19:16
can't find anything anywhere
i think genreally they reccomend a one page LOCI

Small question, Im currently an undergrad at UVA about to enter my fourth year and while UVA is my top choice I'm, unsurprisingly, interested in SLS. I was wondering, does a higher LSAT score decrease chances holding GPA constant? Because that's what the chance me is showing
21:14
and how much weight should I give the percentages the chance me spits out?
21:15
because I assume it ain't gospel just an extrapolation given a sample
