What worked for me/what I would tell other applicants, in no particular order:
Take time off, if you are in college or just finished, plan to go to law school 2 years from now. These schools are 100-200 years old. They’re not going anywhere. Work a job, pay bills, get used to being just a regular adult first. This will make you a stronger/wiser applicant - Take the LSAT more than once. I never hit a magical / dream score but I took it 5 times. I tried my best to raise my score but oh well.

• If you are a URM, you’re playing a different game than white applicants. I would say ignore the medians and apply where you want to be. That will come with rejections and acceptances like anyone else, but these schools are in desperate need for diversity.
• I think living in Virginia my whole life helped with a UVA acceptance. Didn’t write a why UVA.
• Write a personal statement that only you could tell and it doesn’t have to say why law
• Try to get an LSAC fee waiver
