Probably R&Ring. I liked BU, but it’s not worth $200k+ in debt. Emory’s offer is pretty compelling - it’s a good school and they offered me a lot of money (I interviewed for the Woodruff), but I feel like I owe it to myself to try again (this was a very personal decision, and maybe not the right one. We’ll see 🤷♂️). Gonna actually study for the LSAT this time, and redo my essays over the summer. Also looking for legal-adjacent work experience, to help convince that the transition from STEM to law isn’t a rushed or desperate decision.
Make sure law school is what you really want to do. Not only is it super expensive and a huge time commitment, but admissions officers are trained to identify ambivalence and uncertainty, especially at the top. That’s where I’m struggling (plus a lower than ideal LSAT, due to not studying and life deciding to smack me around both times I took it). You have to show them not that it’s what you want to do, but the only thing you can see yourself doing. It’s what you have to do
Don’t take things too personally - whether you’re accepted or rejected, these adcom people don’t actually know you. They aren’t making a judgment on your worth or ability, just whether you’ve marketed yourself well and if your stats help their rankings (the right angle curve is total BS anyway)
