About & Wisdom

Wisdom

what a time to be alive

In addition to LSAT, I also have 329 GRE (171 LSAT conversion? but you never know) - sent that to schools that seemed to take GREs based on ABA data

Had some fancy internships and an Ivy League STEM masters (reason why I took the GRE) so put T3 softs but idk if that is real. I feel like everyone loves to inflate their softs lol My personal take is that compared to the average college student the average of T20 applicant softs are incredible but then you have to normalize for applicant pool so everyone seems to be somewhat average. Same goes with personal, diversity statement, etc.

EDIT: Apparently, law schools only take your LSAT if you submit both LSAT and GRE so rip to thinking my GRE would somehow help me lol

P.S. If you ever want to feel good about yourself, go to some application cyles in the mid-2000s and see how your stats would do. I think my stats in 2006 would have gotten me into UChicago haha but I guess the 4 section lsat is easer than the 5 section so I will never know

Will do a cycle recap after. I always love reading other people’s LSD profiles so I will contribute.

Pre-cycle thoughts: Canvased T14 in hopes that one or two LSAT medians drop to 170 from last crazy cycle. I applied somewhat early (October-November) but I have not received anything back as of 12/10. I am from an okay, well-known (top 25) undergrad with an A minus average. (Funny how it looks bad as a 3.66 but feels better to say A minus average??) so wish me luck besties.

Checking in 12/15: Got Fordham!! Very happy about that. Still waiting to hear back from Penn ED. I have a feeling I’ll get pushed back to RD and ultimately denied. Annoying because just two years ago someone with my stats would have an okay shot at it.

Waitlisted at Penn: dead inside

Changed Duke to ED2 on 1/5 because it’s my life and paying some extra money for a lifelong income and prestige multiplier is worth it for me. Hopefully, I get in. I saw one person on Reddit get in ED with 170, 3.5 so it gives me SOME SOME SOME hope. But also a bunch with my stats were waitlisted. I went UR4 on 1/8. Kind of nuts. Keep in mind I come from a family who can help me pay for law school. I feel like that meme where its the head made out of puzzle pieces and the last puzzle piece for success is coming from a family with money lol I’m definitely a lucky kid

Every decision is like gut punch after gut punch lol

EDIT: Into T14 - crying, laughing, completely manic, don’t want to complete dox but T10
