Did all nonspecific optional essays (the “Why X” variety) but didn’t do diversity statements. I’m a straight white guy, so I really can’t talk about a lifetime of adversity and expect to be taken seriously–just seems more insulting to make that pitch or to use the space for really anything other than what it’s intended for. Can’t say if it was the right or wrong approach, but I don’t really regret it. Otherwise shot my shots and left it all out on the field. Feel lucky and excited to have gotten the full ride at NUSL! What a cycle…
