DelusionalCatMom's wisdom
shoot your shot!!! you never know. but also be sure the story is cohesive and compelling. you want to be able to demonstrate that you know why you’re going to law school, you’re ready to take on the academic challenge, and you’ll be an active and engaged member of the school’s community. for example, aside from harvard which was for the lolz, i was very particular about my school list (i call it football-coded) since i have a specific interest in sports & law, and looked for places where i could work with the school’s athletics department (externship, for example). this made is easy to write “why X school” in every case where that was applicable. and when it comes to websites like this or reddit forums, they can be great for information (e.g., seeing when waves are happening) and i found them to be incredibly supportive, but also every single person is unique and their results are not necessarily replicable, so take every insight or advice with a grain of salt because it may not be applicable to you. and if you’re the kind of person where it just spikes your anxiety / neurotic tendencies to comb through forums or data or constantly refresh your portals, limit yourself to once a week or something like that to keep yourself sane (i literally used the brick device to block this site and reddit when i was having a particularly bad time). at the end of the day, all you need is one acceptance to be a lawyer, and your experience is ultimately what you make of it. you don’t have to go t-14 to be successful—just find where you’ll thrive. and follow @lewis.and.leo on instagram.
