Shoot your dang shot! The LSAT is not all-important (my PT average was 165 and I had broken 170 multiple times, but test day is a whole new animal and my score made me think I was doomed), if you are above one median then you have a chance.

Waitlists do NOT mean you are “soft” denied - students are accepted from them every year from almost every school. The trick to waitlists is simply keeping the school updated and basically reminding them you exist and want to attend - have some sort of contact with them every 4-6 weeks (it is best if this contact is some sort of update such as telling them you just recently graduated and have submitted your final transcript, or were inducted into phi beta kappa, etc.) You can also go and visit campus and then write a short email about your experience visiting. Make it extremely clear that you want to, and will, attend if accepted off the WL.
