EndurableTenderClown's wisdom
TLDR: reapplicant (check @mindlesswirygoblin), got off wake’s waitlist by writing the worlds most unhinged letters of continuing interest, ultimately picked tulane because I’d come out debt free and be able to live comfortably
hey there! hopefully this year is better than last!
i decided to retake the LSAT after totally failing in the last admissions cycle (if you want proof go stalk @mindlesswirygoblin) but my lsat before was a 158.
lets hope for the best!
for the extra neurotic people, here’s some bonus info:
umiami WL -> A (9pm est) - scholarship announced 2/3
Fordham RD WL -> EA HOLD -> WL**
cu boulder R -> A (7pm email w/o scholarship, scholarship came in week later)
tulane WL -> A (scholarship came by email 2/10)
BU R > R
GW R > R
wake WL -> WL-> A (got the call 5/2 at 5p, had until 5/5 at 5p to decide… no scholarships)
emory WL -> WL**
weird results:
Cornell ED Reserve (it’s still binding) -> rejected
Wake Forest WL > A
I wrote the most unhinged letters of continuing interest of all time. Seriously, adcom told me that was why I got off the WL. I was also WL last year and drove from FL > NC to meet them in person so they knew me, knew I wanted to go to the school. The advice they gave me then was to try to stand out and write unique, even funny LOCIs. So, I wrote about Wake’s whimsical trains, mystical bricks, luxurious grass, aesthetic lamposts, and their perfect squirrel-to-student ratio. - EX) In past letters, I’ve highlighted Wake’s exceptional academic programs, luxurious grass, mystical bricks, whimsical trains, and even the weather. This month, my reason is Wake Forest’s absolutely perfect squirrel-to-student ratio. Having spent time on campus, I’ve noticed that Wake’s squirrels are unusually well-fed, daring, and full of personality—perhaps even legally savvy. As someone who enjoys a scenic walk between classes, I appreciate the idea of sharing campus with such bold and entertaining little scholars. Whether they’re engaging in heated debates over a dropped granola bar or performing gravity-defying leaps from branch to branch, Wake Forest’s squirrels add an undeniable charm to campus life.
Tbh, I kinda started trolling because I was pretty upset I didn't get accepted this year after all the work I had put in. I was heartbroken, so I figured a few goofy letters probably wouldn't get me accepted or rejected since it didn't seem like anyone was reading them. However, clearly they are so be you, be goofy, and stand out! Ultimately, I had already gotten an apartment in new orleans and they didn't give me any money so I decided to stick with Tulane, but kisses to wake for such a wild ride and having a great sense of humor!
