Gargs's wisdom

To my fellow Natives interested in law: do not let the statistics stop you.

If anyone is interested, here are my withdrawal reasons

  • Albany: took this one off my lsd as it was bothering me to have pending, withdrawn. I withdrew from Albany before getting a decision because I was a September applicant and had heard NOTHING, it is currently early February. scholarships also disappointing from what I have seen.
  • Cleveland: disappointing scholarship, the amount I received is their highest. also moving towards being very AI focused.
  • Georgia State: frustrating scholarship process and amount, only received $2k for 1L so non-renewable
  • Lincoln Memorial: mainly rank, reputation, and brutal curve. they are also quite a new law school which concerned me.
  • Mercer: moving to Macon did not financially make sense when I had offers from equivalently ranked hybrid programs that I could keep my job at.
  • Northeastern: this one HURT. I felt like I was a great candidate for either the CLEAR scholarship or the PIL scholarship. received neither and the amount I received would have left me with $150k in debt for a hybrid program. I also did not like the inability to accelerate.
  • University of Dayton: hybrid students are not allowed to take electives, and heard straight from the mouths of students how awful the curve here is. for what I do for work, I ultimately decided I needed a transactional clinic and elective options.
  • University of Hawai’i: incredibly low scholarship and would not negotiate. FWIW, I have very extreme familial ties to Honolulu.
  • Suffolk: low scholarship (33%), does not negotiate. I did get into the APO which is neat! I would have considered it if the money had been better.
  • St. Mary’s: took this one off my lsd as it was bothering me to have pending, withdrawn. withdrew before getting a decision, similar reasons to Albany. I also do not feel comfortable attending a conservative Catholic school in Texas currently, even if online.
