A few words of wisdom…

1. Do not take advice from anyone on Reddit. No one on there knows what got them into a school or what got them rejected. The only people that know that are AdComms.

2. Listen to “Navigating Law School Admissions with Miriam and Kristi.” Dean Ingber and Dean Jobson actually read applications and know what they are looking for. I found this podcast to be extremely helpful for crafting my applications.

3. Go to prospective student events and ask questions. Asking questions like “what do you wish more applicants knew,” “does your school like to see a why X statement,” and “what makes your school unique” helped me adapt my standard statements to the individual schools and decide what to put in my supplemental statements.

4. Get someone who REALLY knows their grammar to edit your statements. This could be a professor, a friend, or a professional on Fiverr (this costs only a couple bucks and can be a big help to spot things you may have missed).
