Jackofalltrades1775's wisdom
It’s never too late to follow your dreams.
I’m older than most students, this was true in undergrad and will be true in law school.
After a long succesful career in the military, I decided to pursue my childhood dream and attend law school. The choice for me was simple, it came down to a matter of if I would regret not having done it. When it is time for me to say goodbye, I want to know that I accomplished all that I set out to do.
Don’t be afraid to start, I started undergrad at 36 and graduated at 38, the same year I applied to schools.
My ultimate goal would be to attend a T-14, that’s asking for a lot, but hey… I already decided to take a leap of faith, what’s one more?
Undergrad was a lot easier for me when I got older. I struggled in HS mostly because I felt like it was a waste of time and easy. I can say the same about undergrad, but I actually focused.
I don’t know if this will ever inspire anyone, but if it does, or you need any advice reach out to me. I’m more than willing to lend a hand however I can. robdymes123@hotmail.com

Dec 5th:
Retake the LSAT if you can! This cycle has been brutal for me with waitlist hell. I’m fairly confident that if I had a better LSAT I would have gotten more acceptances.
My issue came down to timing, work, and retirement planning.
Take more time with LSAT prep than you think you will need, I wish I would have started studying earlier than I did for the LSAT. I only studied for 6 months. In that time I improved nearly 20 points from my diagnostic. I was routinely PTing mid 160s. Give yourself at least 12 months, if you don’t need it great! But if you do, it gives you plenty of time.
Jan 6th:
Retake the LSAT, especially if you have strong softs. Softs will get you WL without the numbers.
Keep your head in the game… you got this!!
