Final thoughts:
Overall I took Emory’s binding offer instead of hoping to get off the waitlist. I hope my thoughts below can be of some help to future applicants. I had the hardest time deciding between UF and Emory, although keep in mind I never went back to UF for money. I didn’t have time to tour, and although it’s higher ranked I wasn’t sure I wanted to be in FL. Emory seemingly does well there anyway, and it was only 30k total more. Best of luck to you all, and feel free to reach out to me on Reddit with any questions at: an0nrand0
Attending: Emory (80% tuition/60k COA debt after 3 years): With the scholarship increase, it’s a more viable option. I really like how they place graduates all over the country. I liked the campus and how Atlanta provides access to a lot of different externships.

Still Considering:
Notre Dame: Another school that I think I have a strong chance of getting off the waitlist. Unlikely I’d attend at sticker.
Vandy: Very slim chance I get off this waitlist considering the stats of the people who have been accepted. However, this was my dream school for undergrad so I’m going to ride it. Would likely attend at sticker.
USC: The school that I think I have the strongest chance of getting off the waitlist. LOCI sent. Unlikely I’d attend at sticker.
UT: Given I’m out of state another school where I don’t have a great shot. LOCI sent, and because it’s a public school I’d probably attend OOS sticker.
BU: Not a great chance I get off the waitlist and not a high probability I attend at sticker, so this is very unlikely. Still a solid school though so I’m happy to wait and send an LOCI later. Would not attend at sticker.
WUSTL: The school I’m least likely to get off the waitlist for considering my stats are double below median. I loved the school though, had a fun time meeting with all of the admissions staff, and am happy to get rejected later. LOCI not yet sent. Would consider attending at sticker.
No Longer Truly Considering/Withdrawn:
UCLA: Rejected
UIUC (100% tuition): Top tier scholarship offer, but it’s in the middle of nowhere. Not keen on Urbana-Champaign and not married to Chicago.
GWU (44% tuition): Being in DC has a lot of perks, but is really expensive. At this price, GWU is the most expensive school on my list by a long shot. Given it’s a peer school to Emory, currently not keen.
W&M (75% tuition): I really liked the professors, students, and career services people I met at W&M, but I cannot see myself being happy there for 3 years, especially when the Clinics, Journals, and Class sizes are all identical to UGA which is 70k cheaper.
UMN (52% tuition): While the Twin Cities might be fun place to live, the employment outcomes didn’t match the price tag. Almost as expensive as Emory despite qualifying as in-state.
UW (100% tuition): UW is a good school where I have friends, family and professional connections. Madison is a beautiful city with a cool campus. However, I don’t want to stay in Wisconsin long term. I need to remember that the professional connections that I have here will follow me, and my friends will visit. I have to remember to find the balance between pushing myself and being comfortable.
UGA (100% tuition): Liked my visit to UGA, and there’s a lot to like about the school. There’s not a huge cost difference between UGA and UF, so the slightly higher likelihood of getting a federal clerkship (still need to be in the top 25%) isn’t worth having my best options limited to only Atlanta.
UF (78% tuition): UF is a good school in a market that I’m familiar with and where I have friends and family. Miami might be a cool city to live in for a while.23k more than UGA, but if I was stuck in either state, I’d rather be stuck in Florida because I can’t think of another big city in GA other than Atlanta. With Emory’s reduction in price, and the fact that I wouldn’t be able to visit before making a decision, means that Emory is the way to go.
Marquette: Safety School. Withdrawn
Fordham: Was likely going to be too expensive, didn’t want to wait for them or be stuck in NYC. Withdrawn.
Boston College: Was likely going to be very expensive, was not a high priority so I withdrew.
