Advice
More is better*. If a school allows you to submit optional essays (why X), spend some time crafting a compelling supplemental essay. Yes, there are people who get admitted without submitting optional essays. But the more information you can provide to the admissions committee, the more rounded perspective they’ll have on who you are as an applicant. Obviously, if a school wants you to submit a 2-page essay, don’t submit a three page essay. More is better as long as its within the bounds of the guidelines. **Submit your applications early. Most law schools define submitting your applications early as before Halloween (or before the end of the year). For most law schools, they review applications as they receive them (rolling admissions). This means that your application will receive the most amount of attention and consideration toward the beginning of the cycle, when there are more seats available for applicants. Submitting your applications early also means that you can take some time off after the herculean task of applying to law school! You don’t want that hanging over your head. Find a hobby (and get off of this website). Law school admissions is a mental game; it doesn’t end when you submit your applications. Spending the next 6 months of your life checking Law School Data or r/lawschooladmissions daily will wear you out more than you think. The moment you submit your final application, take a break from this website. Go touch some grass. Watch a movie. Go on dates. You deserve it for making it this far and checking this website every minute will not change your odds of admission.
