LegalBeagleOwner's wisdom
While r/lawschooladmissions and LSD.law are fantastic tools, do your best to avoid the temptation to be sucked in to groupthink. Be your own person and applicant. If everyone runs the exact same race, it’s considerably harder to stand out. Within the bounds of accepted behavior, try to find a way to stand out. If you don’t know what type of law you want to study, say that. I truly believe that being candid is an asset and not a liability and can serve as a true differentiator.
For example, I sent Temple an LOCI after being under review for a month. On Reddit, it was unanimously judged to be a bad idea. I believe it was the move that got me accepted because it took any questions ADCOMs may be asking themselves about me and my application and answered them for them.
Keep in mind that every applicant has their own priority rankings. MY priorities were to be in the Philadelphia area, where I currently live and work. It would have been a waste of time and energy for me specifically to apply as broadly as some others do. If I were a senior in Undergrad, I’d have applied much more broadly. All that to say, comparing your own situation to others on LSD is a fools’ errand. You are operating from a place of very limited visibility into the true situation of everyone else on this site, so don’t risk making apples to oranges comparisons, even if their GPA and LSAT is the same as yours.
I believe any soft can be “T1” as long as you know how to advocate for yourself and explain why it makes you YOU and why YOU are an asset to the school you are applying to. It might feel uncomfortable, but if you don’t sell yourself, nobody else will.
