About & Wisdom

LiveFruitfulStork's wisdom

For college students: I highly recommend getting a year of work experience. You will be able to speak on your experience during the application process, have a matured perspective, and get better results. It really helps to have a year to step back and be deliberate about your next choice. Also, be a unique and memorable applicant. Do things with your time that allow you to tell a different story than others. There is a ton of qualified applicants and you need to be conscious of how you stand out.

My LSAT was a lot of luck. I had never taken a full practice test and scored so high. I just used books from Amazon and many PT sections. I had underperformed my avg. my first two attempts, so I guess it was time that I overperformed. Understand that some tests will be for you and others will not be. Do not be afraid of retaking and getting the test that was written for you.

Michigan was my first acceptance and I was content to go there, especially with the scholarship. The only thing that could have changed my mind was Harvard, as I knew I’d get aid, or a better offer from Duke. Didn’t apply for aid at NW, GULC, or CLS. Wasn’t interested in those schools since NW and CLS acceptances came after Harvard.

I chose Harvard because I’m not sure what I want to do for a career and I figured Harvard would give me the most options. It’s a huge school and there’s a great deal of breadth and room for exploration.
