LivelyJudicialOwl588's wisdom for future generations

Musings of a reverse splitter.

Start studying for the LSAT earlier than when you think you would need. I gave myself 8 months because I wanted to apply by the early fall. This was a mistake. I felt rushed, and pressured to reach a particular score. When I didn’t see improvement I would get very nervous. I will say I was PT’ing in the range I wanted before test day–but still underperformed.

My diagnostic was a 153 and my highest official score is a 165. I felt that paired with my GPA and softs, a 165 was sufficient for getting me into a good school I would attend so I gave it a shot.

Your essays are also very important. You need to tell an engaging story and make the admissions team understand why it is you are pursuing law.
