LuckyNumber170's wisdom
GPA
Went from a 3.84 to a 3.86 after fall 2021 grades came in on 12/22/2021.
Application Background
Wrote Why X for Michigan, Duke, and Cornell, UCLA Programmatic Contribution, and GULC Unpopular Opinion.
Personal Statement - Well written but that’s pretty much where the good things end. It had a bad spelling error and it was basically just about me being bad at something to then improving. Law was only mentioned in the last sentence but it did not really tie much of it together.
Resume - I have a decent amount of experience (for a KJD) but it is in like 3 or 4 different areas. My application readers were likely left questioning why I want to go to law school or even what I am interested in.
Wish I applied to Berk but I did not have enough in me to add to my PS and write a why x for them.
Interviews
GULC - I did not perform particularly well, not poorly, but I was probably the least impressive of those in my interview.
Vandy - Super chill but I was unprepared and had to take the call on my cell phone while in a very busy park.
UT - I never completed it because I had no desire to attend, should never have applied.
WashU - The admissions officer I spoke with was incredibly kind and it went pretty well compared to my other interviews. I would be interested to see if it could get me off the waitlist but I will be withdrawing before I find out.
R&R Decision
I genuinely do not believe I am prepared for law school. I feel like I can do better next cycle even if it is equal to or more competitive solely from the experience I have gained this cycle. This year has also been exhausting and I believe getting a year of work experience and recreating my application/potentially retaking the LSAT will have profound effects on my results.
