Fee Waivers- I was able to google “fee waiver >insert school name<” for several schools and find forms on their websites

• I emailed the other schools to ask. Most of them replied with codes in their responses or told me how I could earn one.
  In your LSAC profile settings, turn on the option to receive marketing emails and communications from schools. I applied to several schools entirely free (no dumbass $45 CAS report fees) because they solicited me with waivers for their own fees and - the CAS report fee waivers. I wouldn’t have bothered applying otherwise, but when its free, why not?
• Between these two tips and other schools not having an app fee at all, I only paid CAS report fees during the admissions process
  LSATDo not underestimate the LSAT! I didn’t even look- at it until June of 2023 despite planning on applying to law school for the September 2023-February 2024 cycle. Stupid, I know, but I was confident my general intuition and smarts would carry me through. I was dead wrong!
• I’m confident I could have done better if I had spent more time studying seriously for it as I did from Nov 29 to Jan 10.
• 7Sage is a fantastic bargain for preparing to the LSAT. It’s how I went from 150 in November 2023 to 157 in January 2024. It’s not the best score to write home about, but with it and a mediocre GPA, I still got considerable scholarship money
  If you’re like me and fcking hate logic games, it could be worth waiting until August 2024 when the logic games section will be entirely removed from the test. That will free you up to focus on just two sections: Reading Comprehension and especially - Logical Reasoning, since there will be 2 scored LR sections from that point forward.
  *Essays- Get thinking about your personal statement ASAP. I went through several iterations before feeling inspired to write my final version.
• Look into seeing if your alma mater has a Pre-professional Advisement center/Prelaw adviser of some sort. I got an editor at BYU’s PPA center to look over my drafts a few times and I felt like it really helped with my tone and especially being concise.
• My Prelaw advisor at BYU advised me to always write optional essays (and get them proofread and looked over), including the “diversity”/perspective ones, and really think about how unique you are. It doesn’t just have to be about sexual identity, race/ethnicity. I talked about being Mormon outside of Utah for most of my life being influential in the formation of identity and traits of resilience, for example.
  Addendums- I wrote an addendum to point out that I had an entirely upward trend of A’s for the last two years of my undergraduate degree despite having some questionable grades during the COVID period
• My understanding is that if you attended college during the pandemic, the LSAC automatically includes some type of addendum reminding AdComms that you were in school during that chaos and grades should be considered in light of those circumstances
