Application Timing: Apply early, especially if you have lower stats. The majority of my apps (including Duke) were submitted mid-September. I don’t think I would’ve gotten into Duke if I had waited a couple months longer.

GPA: I went to an undergrad with severe and notorious grade deflation, and the law schools were aware of this when reviewing my application. Based on my admissions results, most schools did not seem to factor this context into their decision. Your GPA is viewed objectively in comparison to other applicants, and the rigor of your undergrad seems irrelevant, at least in my experience. Medians unfortunately do matter a lot to law schools for the US News rankings. Do your absolute best on the LSAT and craft a killer personal statement if your GPA is on the lower side for any reason.
