Advice:
This is not just a numbers game. You can set yourself apart in other ways and it will be essential when shopping in the T-25 or better range.
URM boost is real, but I believe my extracurriculars and unique WE carried heavy.
Don’t blanket the T-14, blanket the T-30/50/75. Give yourself realistic options with varying financial risk. Shoot your shot, but be mindful of your FG%.
Don’t obsess over big law. Especially if you’ve never worked a legit 9-5. You have no idea whether it’s something you will enjoy or find success in.
Be nice to everyone. Subtle networking through campus visits and calls w/ current students definitely helped me swing a few A’s (USC, UCLA, UMich).
Unless it’s HYS, always write the ‘Why X’. Make sure is personalized.
If I was in admissions I would discriminate against KJDs. Joking as lots of you are incredibly intelligent, but go get that real world experience before applying.
Don’t be afraid to delay this journey. I studied the LSAT for about 9 month in total. Decided to give up on the 2022-23 admissions cycle because I wasn’t ready and was blown away by my success in 2023-2024. I never would’ve dreamed of some of my options and it was only possible because I stayed patient.
