Some miscellaneous advice:

173 is the new 170 for nURM. If your GPA is below the T14 25th percentiles, you may need a 173+ to give yourself a decent shot at the T14. If you’re not there, consider retaking (NOTE: This advice applies to the 2021-2023 cycles and may change in the future).
If you are a splitter, apply early and broadly. Make sure you write all of the optional essays.
A cohesive ‘Why Law’ narrative is critical in your written materials if you are a non-traditional applicant. Have friends/family/current law students read your essays to make sure it is clear why you want to go to law school and why now is the right time. If you are coming from a career unrelated to law, think about transferrable skills and how you can communicate them in your materials.
Don’t be afraid to ask for more $ during scholarship reconsideration, even if you don’t have a competing offer! Saying ‘I will commit on the spot if you offer X’ can be very powerful.
Find some friends who are also going through this process. It makes the journey so much easier.
