Softs: First-gen college/law student. Grew up in rural community. T-5 public undergrad.

R&R if you are not happy with your first cycle results. I only got into Temple the previous cycle and WL at 3 T-14s. I knew I could do better, so I studied for the LSAT for 3 months, got a job in the legal field, volunteered, and refined my essays.
Apply as early as possible, especially if below medians. I think the best strategy is to submit a few safety schools first that way as you are compiling your materials and proof-reading you have a few applications to make sure everything is great for your targets and reaches (I only did 1 safety school before applying to my top 3)
Email schools for fee-waivers.
Shoot your shot, even if below both medians - your story matters.
Find a legal professional, current law student, or friend also applying and talk to them throughout the cycle. Ask them to read essays, LOCIs, or just goals. It will make the cycle more bearable.
