In their book, “The Happy Lawyer”, law professors Nancy Levit and Douglas O. Linder found that the happiest lawyers on average were those who attended T4 schools and held jobs on the lower-paying end of the legal job market. What does this mean for aspiring law students? It’s hard to draw broad conclusions especially when addressing such a diverse group, but I would argue that it means that at the end of the day, paying top dollar to go to the highest ranked school you get into might not be the best choice for everyone. Many folks may do better to attend a strong regional school or some other school for low debt.
