Things I learned:
Additional essays probably help. I didn’t write anything besides my resume and personal statement. - Studying for the LSAT for a month isn’t enough to get full potential, take it before November and start studying earlier

• Submit applications early or you are at a disadvantage when applying (do it before January / March unlike me)
• Be authentic in personal statement. It makes it easier to write and becomes a better piece of writing
• Get application materials done over the summer instead of during class time (I ended up waiting until winter break)
• Grades taken over the summer at a community college count for LSAC GPA
• A+’s count more than A’s so it is worth trying for the A+ rather than being content with getting an A
• Figure out a balance with extracurriculars, LSAT studying and classes. I was very active with my extracurriculars which caused me to study a lot less for the LSAT and hurt my GPA. Schools would prefer a 173 LSAT student that was involved with one or two activities on campus compared to a 169 Fraternity president that worked part time.
• Have a plan and stick with it. I told myself “Start studying for LSAT in May and take in August. Then have all applications in by November”. I did none of that since I got busy at a summer job.
