RedDog's wisdom
all scholarship info is total
EDIT: on 06/05/2020, I increased my LSAT from 160 to 163. All results are with my 160, unless otherwise noted.
EDIT, EDIT: ended up transferring to T20 school after 1L.
UNLV:
10/29 - refreshed my status checker for UNLV to find myself admitted! Admissions called the next morning to make it official and offer a 25% scholarship; no clue on conditions yet (edit - just good academic standing needed to keep)
02/03 - scholarship adjusted to 1/3, and in-state tuition granted!! Game-changer.
06/10 - because of my updated LSAT, I was bumped to a full tuition scholarship. Seriously a life-changing scholarship; so happy I took the LSAT again.
Baylor:
10/30 - status checker told me that my decision has been mailed, and to call admissions for information. When I called, I was told I was admitted! No scholarship, though. They recommended I submit a scholarship request when I start fielding more offers from other schools.
Lewis & Clark:
10/30 - got an email today inviting me to interview with adcomms - I scheduled a phone interview during the second week of November.
11/12 - interviewed. Conversational, low-stress. Indicated that decisions would roll around in early January.
12/18 - received the acceptance email! Surprised to receive it before January.
12/26 - received the admission packet and found out I was offered $$!
Utah:
11/8 - got word that I’m being rolled over to regular decision from ED. This was expected (I think ED from last year had 161+/3.8+ stats). I should hear by “mid-December,” as per the email. Def feeling like Utah might be a stretch now…
12/20 - …and my feeling was correct! Waitlisted today. Better than a rejection - just sent a letter of continued interest and said I was open to interview in Feb.
Texas Tech:
11/19 - accepted, and with $$! The scholarship surprised me: $12,500 a year. EDIT - they just called to officially extend acceptance and let me know the $12,500 a year is on top of in-state tuition! Was not expecting that.
Tulane:
12/19 - didn’t expect an acceptance, and especially not before Christmas, but I’m not complaining! Also, wtf y’all. They gave me the Tulane Law School Honor Scholarship at $97,500. In via status checker.
Texas A&M:
12/19 - in via email and status checker! Gig ‘em.
12/26 - admission packed came in and verified scholarship info.
06/29 - TAMU made it to the very end, but wouldn’t increase my scholarship after the 163 and full-ride from UNLV; had to withdraw.
Oregon:
01/02 - after a long wait and little-to-no movement, I received the acceptance email today! Scholarship info was in the body of the email, with conditions attached in a PDF.
Wisconsin:
01/06 - I applied to Wisconsin after hearing that graduates didn’t have to take the bar exam. It’s a super-reach, but I figured it’d be worth it to shoot my shot. Not expecting anything crazy here.
04/08 - what a long wait! Got the waitlist via email. Surprised it wasn’t an auto-rejection.
Houston
01/13 - this one hurt - waitlisted. Like Utah, I’m still in the running, but now some hard decisions have to be made.
04/30 - in off the waitlist!
06/29 - withdrew
BYU
01/17 - the only decision I was 100% certain about was my application to BYU lol. Finally got the inevitable rejection today after waiting a looooong time; it’s a relief to know the cycle is almost done.
