Account from 2021-2022 Cycle: https://www.lsd.law/users/creep/EternallyWrite
From 153 on the LSAT-Flex, to a 151 on the first 4 section test since the pandemic…to now finally having a score in the 160s! It took completely changing the way I studied and giving a part-time job level of focus to the test for 3 months, but, I have to say, it was worth it.
Give yourself lots of time to work on your application. Even as a re-applicant, I had to dedicate hours upon hours to writing, rewriting and editing my personal statement, resume and supplemental essays. If you start early, you’ll have the time to take a break from the application process when needed (and trust me, it will be needed).
Comparing the results of the 2021-2022 cycle to the 2022-2023 cycle:
Stanford:* 2021-2022 R- vs 2022-2023
**Columbia:* 2021-2022 WL (3rd reserve before withdrawing app for R&R) vs 2022-2023 WL*NYU:* 2021-2022 R vs 2022-2023 Hold to R*UC Berkeley:* 2021-2022 R vs 2022-2023 R*Duke:* 2021-2022 R vs 2022-2023 WL*UCLA:* 2021-2022 R vs 2022-2023 WL*UT Austin:* 2021-2022 WL to R vs 2022-2023 R*Fordham:* 2021-2022 R vs 2022-2023 Hold- (withdrew before final decision)
*UC Davis*: 2021-2022 WL vs 2022-2023 A with $$**
Notes from the Cycle:
UC Davis *A*- came in via email at 6:00 pm PST (on a Friday); scholarship offer came on 12/15 around 1 pm PST. BU date change 11/21, but no status change -> BU date change again on 11/28, with an “Application Complete” sub-status added -> blurb change 12/6 -> status date change to 12/15 -> blurb disappearance & addition of second “Application Complete” sub-status on 12/20 -> *A*- came via phone call around 1ish pm PST (on a Tuesday). Scholarship info came via mail alongside acceptance package about a week after acceptance. BC status change on 11/23, date added under file completed. *A *- came in via email on 3/03 around 11 am PST. Scholarship information came in at the end of March via email. Fordham- had no date changes until 12/12, then had another date change 3 days later on 12/15. Got the hold email a week after that date change, withdrew application from consideration that evening. Duke complete/ready for review via email, UR via status checker on same day. *WL *- came via email on 3/24 around 6 am PST. Yale complete email comes with status checker login, email also states that file is ready for review, however the status checker doesn’t explicitly state a status. Email also states that “the status reflected in your portal will not update until [a decision has been made].” Side note that may or may not have bearing on a decision: I’ve been consistently getting emails from YLS encouraging me to “learn more about their school” and the career opportunities that their graduates have…even after applying. Before applying, I had been getting emails encouraging me to apply and assumed the emails from them would stop, but I was wrong - the emails only changed topics after submission. *R * came in via status checker on 1/23 around 2 pm PST. After my rejection, I finally stopped receiving emails from this YLS mailing list. Stanford status checker took one month and one day to arrive after submitting application. Sent in updated resume with what I would describe as a work experience addendum via email on 4/24. Harvard had no status checker updates until rejection day. *R *came on 1/11, one day after the first KJ2 wave.NYU *HOLD came in via email on 1/20 (a Friday) in the morning. No status checker changes before or after email came in. R *came in on 4/20 around 2 pm PST via email. Status checker changed to decision letter sent at the same time.\UCLA radio silence after applying. Received *WL *on 3/24 around 4 pm PST via email.
