Wisdom for future generations

don’t trust everything you read on reddit or in the LSData chat - most of them have also not yet gotten into law school so they’re not exactly an authority on where you should or should not apply. do what you want.

no DS- I had an LSAC fee waiver that covered 3 CAS fees in addition to 1 CAS fee waiver for participating in an LSAC study

  • Submitted nearly all apps on or around 10/10, but decided to take November LSAT - reached out to schools that did not have a stated LSAT hold policy (UT, Stanford, DePaul) and didn’t do anything else for schools with policies (Wisconsin, LUC, UIUC)
  • SIDE NOTE: I took the June and September LSAT and got a 157 and 152 respectively. I wasn’t going to retake because its expensive and I was losing hope, but I’m glad I did. I think my score boost and my LSAT addendum could have had a really good impact on my outcomes - so if you can retake, I would really think about doing so - especially in the summer/fall
  • Submitted a supplemental essay to all who provided the option (Why Michigan, GULC top ten (about Love Island UK lol), Stanford playlist)
  • Tennessee requires a short video interview to complete your application - I recommend doing it as soon as the prompting pops up for you to do so, because I did not receive a link or login in later and you don’t want to lose that
  • Minnesota has an optional video interview, but you can complete later
  • Tennessee, CWRU, Arizona, and Nebraska sent me unsolicited app and CAS fee waivers - my policy was to apply anywhere if it was free
  • I solicited a CAS fee waiver from ASU
  • Applied to T-14s because f* around & find out (iykyk)
  • Yale and LUC do not update status checkers after marking as complete, so I marked UR as being that same date since there would be no change
  • Date change at UMN everyday 12/19-12/22 and then again on 1/23 and 1/28

Decisions:
Howard - was informed by them at start of cycle that decisions would be released in December and in March. Got notice via status checker and then received scholarship via email - negotiated via their admit email - withdrew based on admin issues- DePaul - email - scholarship info was included - was told they would not negotiate and evening does not give out full scholarships

  • Yale - email directing me to status checker
  • Tennessee - email - scholarship info came later on 2/1 - withdrew because scholarship was low compared to other offers I had
  • Wisconsin - email - scholarship info came later on 1/25 - negotiated and received an increase from 66k to 105k
  • Georgetown - email
  • ASU - email
  • Minnesota - phone call (so fun!!) - scholarship was on the status checker the next day (2/1)
  • Nebraska - phone call - scholarship was shared during the call - withdrew because I didn’t want to be in Nebraska (lol)
  • Michigan - email (HEART BREAKING THIS IS/WAS MY NUMBER ONE) - sent LOCI immediately
  • Loyola - email - scholarship info was included
  • Arizona - email directing to status checker - withdrew because it was never a top choice for me
  • Texas - email
  • Case Western - email with scholarship included - later got a phone call just saying congrats, but I missed the call - withdrew because it was the same cost as UMN and Wisconsin but no where near the outcomes/rank
  • UIUC - email
  • UCI - email
  • Pepperdine - ghosted
  • Stanford - ghosted
