There are techniques to get off a waitlist. All is not lost! Look into writing a strong letter of continued interest and reach out to a trusted professor or mentor for a new recommendation letter. Factors to consider: things that show continued interest (touring, school-specific programs that interest you, shadowing/networking with strong alumni, etc.) and a recommender who has good tenure or rapport with the school. POST 1L UPDATE: It doesn’t have to be as intensive as you think it will be. There will be worthy corners to cut and professors who encourage you to do so. Relax, go at your own pace, do what feels right to you. Most importantly, try not to get caught up in how others are feeling.
