This list is in no particular order:
Submit LOCI ASAP after getting WL
OR if application is still pending after a school’s first seat deposit deadline (IF app was submitted 90+ days ago)
PERFECT IS THE ENEMY OF POSSIBLE
Do not spend too much time trying to get a letter or essay perfect. Certainly spend the time to put out your best work, but nitpicking and changing small details for days or weeks does not make your work stronger, and the longer it takes the less impactful it is
Get Apps in ASAP
You can take LSAT again (or for the first time) after submitting your applications, do not wait for your score to submit.
If you are submitting before you have taken your “final lsat” for the cycle, REMEMBER TO NOTE THAT THERE ARE MORE SCORES COMING
Apply to a few schools you are certain you will get into, even if you have no intention of attending
this will help when it comes time to negotiate for scholarship/aid money, much easier to negotiate if you have another offer
Stay off Reddit/LSD/Forums While Waiting for Admissions Decisions
can be helpful sources of information before submitting (and even once you have your results and you are trying to make a decision)
Until then, it will only cause stress and provide false information
Knowing that others have been accepted or rejected does not impact you. Each applicant is unfortunately hyper-unique. Someone with identical stats could be rejected while you are accepted, and vice versa.
Drink a glass of water, breath, and try to think about anything else during the long waiting game. Obsessing over the process will not help once it is out of your hands.
Go to Admissions Events (offered in person and online)
Schools often record who attends and it shows that you are highly interested in the school. A great way to spend your time while you wait and potentially boost your application instead of reading every r/lawschooladmissionspost from the last decade.
