-Apply early, as in as soon as the apps open to truly get an advantage, anyone who applied after Thanksgiving appeared to be at a disadvantage
-Start studying for the LSAT early! I’m #old so didn’t realize how much of a slog it was, I made meaningful enroads in like 3 months but with 6 you can really nail it. I’d reccomend taking June, August, September, or April, June, August if you can swing it.
-I used ChatGPT for review, I did an extensive error log and sometimes might take 20 min per question reviewing to fully understand it, this is what helped me “break through” specific question types
-Remember: at the end of the day, you are trying to be a lawyer. All schools will help you to that end if you are focused and committed.
-Read finction/non-fiction novels leading up to the test, it really helped me build up my stamina.
As you send your applications, reflect on YOUR goals, not the goals of the people around you or on reddit. Most people are operating from the perspective “I want to go to Big Law and get a federal clerkship to get a Big Law bonus”. That is fine (ish) but you must remember people are operating from THAT place. Especially if you’re interested in public interest. Good luck!
