R&R cycle! Last year, applied with a 165. Softs: Work at DOJ for 2+ years in Antitrust; Goals: Government work in the DC area; I was really interested in government/PI work and remaining in the DC area after law school, so Georgetown, GW, and George Mason were the best fits for me.

Georgetown:

• Interviewed mid October; Was on the regular waitlist; Applied to both FT/PT; Received a feeler March 26 about my interest in the PT program; Was released from the WL May 14; I think they didn’t have any more space specifically in the evening program

George Washington:

• Received a pretty low scholarship offer; Tried to negotiate unsuccessfully; Decided this wasn’t worth the extra money over GMU for my goals

George Mason:

• Initially received an offer of $63K (in-state); Negotiated successfully to $66K (in-state), basically a full-ride minus a few hundred; Antitrust/Economic connections specifically interested me

Overall, thankful for my cycle! I tried to keep finances and PI/government work in mind, as well as region, but had a few dream schools that I reached for. I think I’m in the right spot for me. Good luck to all future applicants!! It can be tough but remember the reasons you are applying and stay strong! Apply broadly and with an open mind, but only go somewhere you think you’ll feel happy!!
