Application Diary
April- Took LSAT, got 173. I’ve debated retaking it since I’m a splitter but honestly I can’t afford a T14 so I hope to end up at a T50 with a scholarship
May- Picked out some schools, began writing PS and optional essays, picked out my recommenders. As of May 20, I’ve asked one so far and I’m going to ask my other one the next time I see her. I’m planning to write all my optional essays but between work and school (and I’ll have 2 jobs over the summer) I might have to prioritize my top choices. I’m aiming to apply as soon as they open, so I’m trying to give myself plenty of time to finish my essays.
May 23- After 3 weeks, 12 drafts and a bajillion hours I finally finished my personal statement and diversity statement! 4/14 applications are complete and ready to submit once I get my LORs back and the window opens. My professor agreed to write me an LOR once we meet about why I want to go to law school, next I’m going to ask my manager sometime this week since she knows me really well. Time to start those Why Xs…
May 27- I’ve been locked in on my Why Xs/ optional essays, and 8/14 applications are put together. Obviously I’m going to continue to edit all my materials, but I am somewhat happy with them so far.
