cozycashews's wisdom

I got a lot of help from looking at other super splitter profiles so hoping mine does the same for someone else!

For those with low GPAs: first and foremost, focus on your LSAT. You need numbers on your side, and the LSAT is the best way of showing that you are more than your GPA.

I wish I’d applied to more schools, if only for scholarship chances. Admissions is really unpredictable, but even more so for super splitters. Apply broadly if you’re able to swing the fees.

I submitted apps on the later end, but I started a job in Oct that’s relevant to my law career goals and wanted the extra time to really hone my application materials using my (very little) work experience. Earlier is definitely better all things being equal, but for me, my narrative was more focused across all of my materials after getting the extra experience.

Speaking of materials, I literally did every optional possible for the schools I really cared about. If you’re also a super splitter, take every opportunity to paint as complete and nuanced of a picture of yourself as possible. Use every document as a chance to show a different side of yourself, but all leading up to why law/why now/why X. I wish I had done more of the optional materials for every school I applied to, but I got kind of burnt out on applications by the end.
