The most important thing that I can share about my application process is this: applying late in the cycle is a perfectly reasonable thing to do. I was able to achieve my goals as a February applicant, so don’t let people tell you that you have no chance if you don’t submit your applications by December 1st or some other arbitrary deadline. HOWEVER, there are drawbacks to waiting. There are obvious things like scholarship deadlines to consider, but there are other factors that you likely aren’t yet considering like housing applications that you will want to submit early to ensure you have the best possible living situation for your 1L year. In my case, I wanted to live in the Lawyer’s Club at Michigan. Those housing applications opened on April 8th, which accelerated my decision. This meant that I didn’t have time to wait for financial aid information from Georgetown. I don’t think it would have affected any decisions that I made, but I wish I had known this when I was applying. Good luck!
