Do LSAT prep early, testing preferably June and latest October, and start your personal statement at least 4 months before applying. No you are not late for starting applications after, it does make it easier but is not sufficient to getting in! Respect the formal logic.

I once had a 145 and flipped it around only after a full year of studying.
145 -> 160 -> 158 -> 162

For junior overachievers, just work on your GPA more than anything. Athletics finessed my first couple years, but an upward trend or rigorous degree will effect you positively! Admissions likes seeing patience and conviction in critical thinking throughout your application, per what Dean Z says.

I will attempt to fully document everything out of respect for those who came before me who helped a brotha out.

It is more than possible to go to a great law school with similar stats!
