Apply Early!!!
I don’t mean that the timeline is more important than the quality of your application but BY ALL MEANS plan ahead!!! I brainstormed my PS and DS over the span of 6 months and went through about 7 different drafts before finalizing. Overall, I think my strong narrative is what allowed me to have a somewhat successful cycle.
Helpful LSAT Resources;
Sure, I didn’t make a 170+ but I decided that I couldn’t sacrifice my mental health more than I already had…. I also don’t feel like its necessary to pay thousands of dollars for a course but it totally depends on how disciplined you can be with yourself while studying. I took the tests while still being a full-time college student and working two jobs at once so anything is possible - you just need good time management :) I gave myself about 3-6 months before each test to study!
ANYWAYS here’s what helped me go from a 140 diagnostic - 160 (first test) - 166 (second):
LSAT Trainer- by Mike Kim
Loophole in LSAT Logical Reasoning- by Ellen Cassidy
Practice Tests- - I probably took every single one twice and feel like blind review and retakes helped me understand the mechanics of the LSAT significantly better
School Specifics:
GULC - I made a “top tens” video which I think shone a little more light on my personality not reflected in my application, in the group interview I made a point to directly interact with everyone (not just Dean Andy)- CLS - Fun facts
- USC - Why USC Essay
- Pepperdine - Separate application for the Faculty Scholarship (full ride + stipend)
