T14 TIPS AND TRICKS:
1a. Don’t go into the LSD chat and complain that you haven’t heard back. None of us have heard back. We don’t care if you applied in November. Some of us applied in October and still haven’t heard back. We all live in the same reality as you. Thanks.
1b. Don’t call a wave until you see at LEAST three decisions from that school in under 4 minutes. It does not count if the username is repeatedly up there because it just means they’re updating their page.
2. When someone gets a decision, give them time to exist and celebrate/mourn. Don’t make it about you and ask “what time did they call” “whats your last name?” “what are your stats”. Would your first words be “How did they die?” or would they be “Sorry for your loss” Like, remember this is a society. We live in a damn society. You aren’t the sun. This isn’t your solar system.
3. None of us are adcomms. No one on this site is an adcomm. You can ask people who are probably very knowledgeable, but at the end of the day, NO ONE CAN TELL YOU what is happening. And in this cycle I bet no actual adcomm can really tell you either.
4. Vanderbilt doesn’t exist. It is a fictitious school. If someone says “vandy wave” theyre trying to drop bear you. If you don’t know what a drop bear is, congrats. You probably haven’t heard of Vanderbilt either.
5. Just because someone is your stats twin doesn’t mean a whole lot. Use that info for what it’s worth which really depends on the school. Some schools are selling out to try to up their stats (lol UTA, you realize you have to get through UCLA first, right?) and some schools truly are looking for a certain kind of person. And none of that is really quantifiable.
6. Fordham’s waitlist is fake. I’m serious. Go look at their charts. They’re Waitlisting their A’s to get out of accepting sooner than later. They WL’d someone who got into NYU and CLS. Go look. If you got the Fordham WL, take it as an A and move on. They dont deserve your respect. This also goes for George Washington. They both accepted too much too soon and now don’t know what to do. Do not take these WL’s personally.
7. Talk shit all you want to but Judge Judy gets paid more than anyone in law, and she went to NYLS which is ranked so far down, I can’t even remember the number so let’s keep the rank bashing to a min.
8. HTE means nothing. It literally means nothing. You know what means something? A decision. That’s it. It’s kind of like Fordham’s WL. It means literally nothing. Don’t give it a second thought.
9. You’re allowed to feel how you want to feel about your life, and this cycle and everything you’ve done and everything you’re experiencing. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
10. Write the optional essays. If your teacher gives you extra credit, and the rest of your life depends on your grade, why wouldnt you do the extra credit? Because you don’t think you’re interesting enough? You don’t want to waste their time? Why are you afraid of wasting the time of people who are comfortable not responding to applicants after 5 months?
11. If you’re big law or bust, try to keep it in your pants (I’m sure it won’t be difficult). Say it don’t spray it, ya dig?
12. Enter your damn dates. If you’re going to be on this website, CONTRIBUTE TO THE INFORMATION ON THIS WEBSITE. Enter your dates. Be a team player. Stop absorbing all the info without providing any. We want dates.
13. Don’t log onto this website too much. Seriously. Don’t. But if you do, remember all the crap I just said because like it or not, how you act here is a reflection of the type of student you’re going to be, and if no one can stand you here, no one is going to stand you there, and if no one can stand you there, have fun in tax law.
14. Georgetown (waitlisted 1 out of every 5 applicants).
