Don’t be shy to ask for fee waivers from all schools that have that option. Some schools have a form you can fill out for need/merit fee waivers and are very generous. Ask for your recommendations as early as possible, and try to give a due date of a few weeks to a month before you intend to submit to account for…

Admitted to Cornell Universitythis one is for the boys with the boomer system Mexican-American gay boy from California with PI and unicorn goals <3 Wrote pretty much all supplementals T6 down (included a Why Columbia and the Song/Class essays at Stanford as well) Also had an LSAT addendum about test-day performance. Accepted to UCLA’s Epstein…
1 year of work experience at a small law firm Supplemental essays: Why Berkeley Michigan “Tell us about an organization you were involved with” UCLA “Programmatic contributions” about the Disability Law Journal Invited to apply for the USC Rothman Scholarship in late January, was notified in mid-March that I didn’t…
Look at my results… future generations shouldn’t heed any wisdom I leave behind.
If you have a C&F issue related to your undergrad’s academic code, certain schools will require a letter from a dean, and won’t process your application as complete until they have received this letter. Plan ahead!
having a bad time in undergrad does not mean you can’t go to law school. i think what helped me was balancing out the GPA with the LSAT score, a long line of relevant work experience, clear reasoning as to why law school wouldn’t be a repeat of undergrad, and having a compelling “why law.” it just takes one! shoot…
It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog.
Ask for fee waivers if you don’t get them. No point in being squeezed by both law schools and the LSAC if you don’t have to be. Schools are very generous with them. (And ask early, it can take a while to hear back sometimes) Cornell-bound! Good luck to all, spend more time studying for the LSAT than I did.
I am still confused as to why some schools were not interested in me and others liked me a lot. I think I wrote a very individualized and unique application which probably cut both ways. So, I have no advice or profound wisdom beyond: believe in yourself and Godspeed with this fucked system.
HYP undergrad w/ honors, 4 yrs WE mostly at a fairly well-known legal advocacy org. Wrote optional essays for Stanford (1-day class), Penn (core values), Michigan (Why X), and Georgetown (unpopular opinion). Non-URM but submitted a diversity statement about being mixed-race where applicable.
I applied so broadly because I wanted to try and negotiate scholarships. Unfortunately the only scholarship I was able to negotiate at all was at GULC. Looking back, I would have just blanketed the T20 + ND and ignored the rest, but I am nonetheless thankful for a successful cycle. GO BLUE!
Worked hard in personal statement + supplements to create a strong why law/why now narrative. Wrote Why X’s (or each school’s equivalent) for every school outside the T6, plus optional essays for any schools that had prompts. Otherwise, very boring KJD who’s had a lot of luck this cycle :)
You will forget this all once it’s behind you. Logging in as a 3L to check my LSAT score in order to answer demographics questions for MPRE registration. Almost ordered a new transcript to check my undergrad GPA. Stats and essays feel so important when you’re applying but they’re not.
Wrote Penn Core Values and Why X School essays for Berkeley, Michigan, UCLA, USC, Cornell. Added a sentence in PS for Columbia. Sent Why NYU after NYU hold. LSAC GPA was slightly lower than uGPA. Retake the LSAT if you need to, apply early if you can. Good luck! You’ll do great!
Write your Why X’s not as essays as to why you want to go somewhere, but why you WOULD ACTUALLY ATTEND. Anyway, CLS was my goal and I got it! But if I had to do it over again, I would apply much earlier, write a Why NYU, and not apply KJD. Work experience is so worth it.
My wisdom is this: I have no wisdom. I am a Mexican-American URM with a unique soft. I’m writing this before I receive any decision, but a horrible cycle would probably be due to me applying at 19 years old. If I had a normal/good cycle, then I guess age doesn’t matter!
taking time between undergrad and law school = coward just ask for more money lol just take practice lsats shoutout to cornell for the quickest response time (by far) whatever the opposite of a shoutout is it goes to vanderbilt, nyu, and virginia - lazy bums
Kind of a unique background. Had an explanation for my low GPA and a decent why law. https://www.reddit.com/r/lawschooladmissions/comments/1c82nmv/splitter_cycle_recap/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
