Beans and rice is such a great meal. It’s cheap, easy, delicious, and nutritious. You can make it in whatever form you find the most satisfying; personally, that’s kidney beans cooked in chili powder served with white rice and topped with cheddar cheese. This is my wisdom to depart and I hope you will reflect and…

Admitted to University of MichiganAdmissions is about distinguishing yourself from others. So do this in any way possible, whether that’s through a high LSAT, unusual resume, or interesting personal statement. Basically, do everything in your power to make the admissions officer remember YOU (in a good way) out of the stack of 40 files they just read.
Wrote Why X Essays for every school except: Harvard- Penn (wrote Why X as LOCI upon waitlist) USC (wrote Rothman) Other Essay Topics: PS: Focused on interest in patent law- DS: Discussed experiences as a woman in STEM Softs: STEM degree (EE)- Work experience as a software engineer Accelerated MBA degree
Don’t be weird. The stats matter less if you’ve actually done cool shit.
I am still confused as to why some schools were not interested in me and others liked me a lot. I think I wrote a very individualized and unique application which probably cut both ways. So, I have no advice or profound wisdom beyond: believe in yourself and Godspeed with this fucked system.
HYP undergrad w/ honors, 4 yrs WE mostly at a fairly well-known legal advocacy org. Wrote optional essays for Stanford (1-day class), Penn (core values), Michigan (Why X), and Georgetown (unpopular opinion). Non-URM but submitted a diversity statement about being mixed-race where applicable.
I applied so broadly because I wanted to try and negotiate scholarships. Unfortunately the only scholarship I was able to negotiate at all was at GULC. Looking back, I would have just blanketed the T20 + ND and ignored the rest, but I am nonetheless thankful for a successful cycle. GO BLUE!
Hispanic from southwestern state, extensive experience living/working/studying abroad, speak 3 languages, won a prestigious fellowship, currently working in a hot industry (and hope to focus on that during law school). Hope schools ignore my low GPA :) edit: they are not ignoring it
Love the school that loves you.
Other than trying to get the highest LSAT score you can and spending time crafting the best application, I suggest you try to stay positive during the process! Don’t forget about your mental health. Working out, running, and other physical exercise has really helped me relieve stress.
lol don’t apply with the gre Went from all Ws and Rs to a strong cycle
Wrote Penn Core Values and Why X School essays for Berkeley, Michigan, UCLA, USC, Cornell. Added a sentence in PS for Columbia. Sent Why NYU after NYU hold. LSAC GPA was slightly lower than uGPA. Retake the LSAT if you need to, apply early if you can. Good luck! You’ll do great!

Applied very late cycle (February & March) but still waitlisted/admitted. Extensive work experience (T3 mostly with a few T2) helped compensate for the LSAT & late application. Applied 2 years out of undergrad but 6 years work experience due to research/work from undergrad.
Hey creeper. Welcome. Here is my self worth in a page. Some notes for you: 3 years WE (relatively impressive, not unicorn though) 4 time LSAT taker (about 10 point increase from 3rd take to 4th take, so don’t give up) Wrote whys for all schools other than the T6
Never give up. Be a leader in one or two clubs/activities in undergrad. Don’t just be a member of several. Get to know well two prominent members of your undergraduate faculty. Maybe do research for one. You need STRONG letters of recommendation, not just good letters.
Get good grades, take the LSAT seriously, and apply early. There is no such thing as a “lock,” and schools will surprise you both ways. I wish I applied to HYS but didn’t think my stats were good enough after I got my ED deferred from NYU. That was dumb. Cast a wide net.
(◕︵◕) Once you send, it’s in the hands of whatever god you pray to, and that should be comforting. Best of luck and know that everything will work out and one decision does not a cycle make! Colors are so fun okay byeeee 🤸🏻♀️
