Shoot your shot, I came into this cycle thinking I didn’t really have a chance at the T14s due to last cycle’s LSAT inflation. Be yourself and have a concrete overarching narrative as to why you want to pursue law and why that law school will help you achieve your goals. Low-income & first-gen were also emphasized…

Girl, this is gonna be a tough few months Update: 2/27/24 Holy shit it was a long few months. Two more schools to go. UVA and UCLA. It has been a very stressful process that has cost me a lot of hair but almost done :) 3/10/24 update UCLA waitlist a week or so ago. Almost done. UVA is ghosting me sadly or I would…
Be okay with changing your plans - before COVID, I wanted to go into big-law and get a 170+ on the LSAT. I got a job at a big law-firm and realized - I kinda hate this. It’s okay to be flexible and admit maybe it isn’t for you. Keep in mind that this decision controls the rest of your life - avoid debt, do what you…
Start visiting schools earlier if you can afford it!
Wrote Why X/ Optional Essays for all schools BC and higher on my list except NYU (added a personalized paragraph to my PS instead) and ASU Fee waivers: some through LSAC, some solicited by asking to alleviate the financial burden of applying , some solicited based on merit once I emailed the school my fellowship…
having a bad time in undergrad does not mean you can’t go to law school. i think what helped me was balancing out the GPA with the LSAT score, a long line of relevant work experience, clear reasoning as to why law school wouldn’t be a repeat of undergrad, and having a compelling “why law.” it just takes one! shoot…
Wish I blanketed T-14 and applied to fewer safeties. Write all optional essays/supplementals early and revise several times. Do your research and show your interest in the schools you like best. Write LOCIs right at 12 weeks regardless of holiday breaks. Negotiate as many scholarships as you can. Thank your…
“How did a girl like me get into you?” - Pink Pantheress regrets: -Apply early. Not kidding. -Take the LSAT again if you think you need to/can do better. Medians are rising.
Apply earlier than February. Stop refreshing the status checker and go outside.
I have always thought that one man of tolerable abilities may work great changes, and accomplish great affairs among mankind if he first forms a good plan, and, cutting off all amusements or other employments that would divert his attention, makes the execution of that same plan his sole study and business. Dual credit community college student to online undergrad. Lots of P/F credits through my undergrad. Petty unique academic journey and experiences that turned into a cool narrative. Emory, Michigan, Penn State Dickinson, and ASU I applied to as soon as the apps opened in August, but I could not add that date in.

Hey! Hope this is helpful. Unfinished MA in Europe, BA from flagship state university that isn’t well known outside of sports. Work in nonprofit going on 2 years, large amount of volunteer work as well. One very prestigious scholarship during undergrad, but it’s less well known in the US than it could be.
Ask for fee waivers if you don’t get them. No point in being squeezed by both law schools and the LSAC if you don’t have to be. Schools are very generous with them. (And ask early, it can take a while to hear back sometimes) Cornell-bound! Good luck to all, spend more time studying for the LSAT than I did.
LSAT 172 GPA 3.85 2020–21 cycle
Attending University of California—Los Angeles
Wrote Why X for Penn, UVA, Berkeley, Northwestern, Duke, Georgetown, and UCLA. Wrote two optional Michigan essays, one of which answered the question Why X. Sent LOCI to UChicago, GULC, NYU, and Columbia. Sent LOCI/Why X hybrid to NYU after receiving HTE in January. Was deferred ED to RD at Columbia.
