Caught a ton of waitlists in the tough 2020 cycle. I ended up taking a job in consulting instead of going to law school this year. May try again in a few years, we’ll see.

Admitted to Duke UniversityWrote all optional essays. Was a STEM major, and would definitely recommend making sure it’s clear in your app why you are transitioning to law school if you are also STEM!
Apply to “soft safeties” i.e. schools where you’re pretty damn certain you’ll get in BUT would also actually consider going there–it may be where you end up, and thats ok.
Be meticulous in logging all dates into LSD so future 0Ls can be effectively neurotic. Also – follow your gut. If you know you could do better on the LSAT, take it again.
why not apply and see what happens I wrote georgetown top 10, penn on collaboration, stanford music and who you would talk to through history, UVA on resiliency, why duke
Wrote Optional essays wherever possible. STEM major from a mediocre state school, but I spent a ton of time on perfecting the written materials in my application.

Wrote Why X essays for Duke, UVA, Michigan, Penn (core values), and Cornell. Submitted diversity/lived experience statements to all schools that had the option.
good luck to my stats twins out there!!
Do not stress for the first two to three months after you submit applications. You cannot tell how things are going to go; don’t bother thinking about them.
good luck for those of yall coming in!
Took the LSAT twice. First take got 168; Second take got 169. I was accepted to ASU, OU, and WashU with a 168. I was accepted to all others with a 169.
Take as many practice tests as you can. If you can’t get a perfect score on LG (at least untimed), then you have not studied enough, in my opinion.
Good luck future lurkers :) It was a stressful process, but all works out in the end! Likely pursuing Duke’s JD/MA in Bioethics and Science Policy!
GPA had significant upward trend (near 4.0 for junior and senior years) Duke scholarship interview March 24; Duke scholarship decision April 7
Good luck! If you are a reverse splitter really try to have a memorable personal statement! I think taking a bit of a risk there paid off for me.
