why not apply and see what happens I wrote georgetown top 10, penn on collaboration, stanford music and who you would talk to through history, UVA on resiliency, why duke

Admitted to New York UniversityPersonal statement and narrative is SO important. had a near perfect cycle applying to schools where i was below median LSAT for all of them. work experience is important!
SEVERELY better cycle compared to 2022-2023 for me (◕_◕). I did not retake the LSAT, just strengthened my application parts and applied in November instead of February.
Moral of the story is shoot your shot. I am super KJD (graduated at 19) and I’m not sure if that had any affect on my decisions. I don’t think it did so ¯(ツ)/¯
apply early, broadly, and write all the optional essays! T10 ug, international fellowship after graduating, interest in specific area of law that came up in my essays
Wrote Why X essays for Duke, UVA, Michigan, Penn (core values), and Cornell. Submitted diversity/lived experience statements to all schools that had the option.
Here is my write-up with my thoughts and advice on how to approach applying to law school as a splitter: https://www.reddit.com/r/lawschooladmissions/s/tkQOwsLTRY
T3.5 softs (2 yrs WE in marketing and education). Applied to UChicago and UVA with a 171 in November. Applied to the remaining T8 schools with a 174 in February.
Chose HBS over YLS. Additionally applied to MBA programs A: Harvard, Wharton, MIT, Columbia, YaleSOM WL/R: StanfordGSB, UChicago, Northwestern, NYU, Cornell
good luck to my stats twins out there!!
Engage and demonstrate interest through meetings with admissions officers, student ambassadors, and info sessions
if you’re even a little bit thinking about it, take a fucking gap year. no WE is a really big negative even if you have perfect stats. do not do what i did.
Do not stress for the first two to three months after you submit applications. You cannot tell how things are going to go; don’t bother thinking about them.
Took the LSAT twice. First take got 168; Second take got 169. I was accepted to ASU, OU, and WashU with a 168. I was accepted to all others with a 169.
Good luck future lurkers :) It was a stressful process, but all works out in the end! Likely pursuing Duke’s JD/MA in Bioethics and Science Policy!
Do what’s best for you. Write Why X for schools that you are actually interested in. Write a diversity statement if you have something to say!
Honestly, I have to say one thing if there wasn’t a max at $400,000 on the scholarships amount that I am able to input, they would be higher.
This process kinda sucks but you’ll get through it. Try not to obsess too much and realize you can do great things no matter where you attend
