Extremely grateful for the decisions I have received and for being done with this process. If I had to start this cycle all over again, I would have cut down my school list. Although I received fee waivers to every school I applied to, there was never a realistic chance I would have attended some of these schools.…

Admitted to University of Iowaemail and ask for fee waivers if you have even mildly competitive stats for that school on that note, budget for your application cycle, I ended up spending about $1200 between apps and the lsat, and that’s on the low end there’s so much info on law schools, especially between this site and the ABA 509 disclosures.…
Mid-cycle advice: Apply widely, its good to have options. Get all the fee waivers you can get, almost every school will send them out. Start planning early (I should have started earlier!). Take the LSAT early so you can retake it if needed. End of cycle advice: I am attending the best school that offered me a full…
Write all the optional essays you can. Construct a narrative for yourself and don’t sell yourself short. Shoot your shot– you may be surprised! Try to figure out what your priorities are and what you want to get out of your law degree, especially if you are non-Big Law oriented. This will help you make a decision.…
You gotta get that LSAT score up, that is a rookie LSAT score. Then safety, target, and reach schools. If you’re done with LSAT, prepare applications for submission as early as possible. When you’re ready to submit everything, make yourself wait one full day so you can read it with fresh eyes one last time. My…
LSAT 167 GPA 3.67 2023–24 cycle
Attending Indiana University - Bloomington
Ask for fee waivers everywhere- , no matter what your stats are. I didn’t pay a single application fee and saved hundreds of dollars. This is a fairly predictable game. You don’t need more than 2-3 safety schools. I wasted time working on so many applications to places that I wouldn’t even want to attend. LSAT Demon…
Law school is a risk, and lawyers are all about risk reduction. While the rest of your career will be spent on minimizing chances for a failure, lawsuit, etc., law school applications provide an opportunity to take large risks with very little downside (R, out some $). There but for the grace of God go I–it…
You only need one A!! Dont compare yourself to others, you have your own path and all you need is for one good school to take a chance on you and give you the opportunity to thrive there! Super humbled and grateful that I got into my dream school with lower stats, you can do it too! Dont count yourself out because…
-Shoot your Shot. The worst thing schools can say is no. -Take advantage of fee waivers. If they waived you there’s a good chance they want you at their school -Make your personal statement personal. Talk about your life, your favorite music, art, game but make sure you can tie it back to the school you want to…
Apply as early as possible and shoot your shot! You never know what might happen!
Congressional internship helping Afghan repatriation, lobbying firm internship in D.C., leadership position on collegiate sports team, leadership position in student government. Started out as bio major (big mistake, terrible at chem), and tanked GPA. Transitioned to psych and public policy double major w/ minor in…
Still waiting on Howard University to get back to me…. I am in my last semester of law school. Also, if you are interested in Public Interest (NGOs, Government, etc.) please check out the Public Student Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF)! It makes large amounts of debt doable. Talk to the school’s financial aid office!
Dual credit community college student to online undergrad. Lots of P/F credits through my undergrad. Petty unique academic journey and experiences that turned into a cool narrative. Emory, Michigan, Penn State Dickinson, and ASU I applied to as soon as the apps opened in August, but I could not add that date in.
Believe in yourself and just go ahead and apply to whatever your dream school is. I was worried I wouldn’t get accepted because of my LSAT, but I applied E.D. to NU Law anyways and got in. Please just apply to whatever school you’re dreaming about and don’t listen to naysayers on here or LSA reddit. Good Luck!!
Fill your profile out as detailed as you possibly can! This means every app, every status update on your apps–all of it. I am so grateful for all of the previous applicants who have shared their data because it has helped me temper my expectations during this process. Pay it forward for the applicants to come!
Writing this from end of 1L year; law school is kind of cringe but I don’t mind it too much. Ignore the drama/noise and spend a lot of time doing practice tests. The U is a chill school overall and I don’t regret going to it at the moment Godspeed, may Carti drop by the time I graduate in sha allah 🤲🏼
A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds
You will forget this all once it’s behind you. Logging in as a 3L to check my LSAT score in order to answer demographics questions for MPRE registration. Almost ordered a new transcript to check my undergrad GPA. Stats and essays feel so important when you’re applying but they’re not.
