3 THINGS Shoot your shot. If you scored below your consistent PT range maybe consider retaking (don’t let people on Reddit bully you into retaking though) Keep calm this is a marathon, not a sprint. If someone that applied at the same time as you gets in and you don’t that does not mean you’re out of the running.…

Admitted to University of MiamiI put myself as T4 softs because I’m KJD and most of my resume items are typical undergraduate activities: legal internship, lab research, TA position, and club leadership. However, I am a first-generation college student with 2 majors (STEM + business-related), which maybe helped me standout a little bit, but…
“The mighty in their pride walk alone to destruction.” - Calvin Coolidge “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated…
Don’t overanalyze the LSAT, and don’t feel like if you started “late” that you don’t have a chance. Stay in touch with schools you like, and tell them you like them. Feel proud of the application you send, and don’t cut any corners. Take full advantage of what they allow you to submit in order to really show them…
Apply everywhere. UVA was my last application and I just filled it out because the FAFSA allowed you to send it to 10 schools. It completely changed my life. Also, I retook and reapplied after my senior year of college and it made all of the difference. 161 to 166. It sounds cheesy and basic, but seriously. Apply to…
Took the LSAT twice with one cancellation (got sick during the test). Scores were 158, cancel, 160. Applied with a diversity statement about chronic invisible illness, and a personal statement on my experience growing up with a parent that struggled with addiction. Included an academic addendum for two breaks in my…
Apply when you feel comfortable with your application material. Do not rush to get your apps out as early as possible. Literally just email schools asking for a merit based fee waiver to save yourself some costs. Worst they can say is no. Give yourself more time than you think you need to write your personal…
I have ~1 year WE in the mortgage industry. I’ve also worked 20-30 hours/week in retail and foodservice jobs throughout highschool and undergrad. STEM major from a large public university. Was part of a few clubs and had one leadership position. If you have any questions or want to reach out, you can find me on…
— Apply much earlier in the cycle than I did. Schools are more likely to take a chance on someone earlier in the cycle. — Update: I am differing my acceptance to UMiami for a year and will attend UMiami as part of the class of 2026. — Another update: not going to law school! Becoming a social worker instead! Kinda…
Tour the schools in your area and attend virtual information sessions / law conferences to meet the others you are interested in. Schools totally care about this as a measure of differentiating between qualified candidates.
shoot your shot take a gap year(s) and get experience and raise your score prestige matters but dont do it at the expense of financial sanity believe in yourself get an honest opinion of someone at the school (preferably a 2L or 3L not connected to the admissions outreach process) spellcheck your apps lol
Don’t put a question mark where God put a period #asf
My wisdom is that you’re probably up late right now stressing about if you’re going to get into your dream school and comparing yourself to other applicants on this site and freaking out over the cesspool that is r/Lawschooladmissions. You will get into great schools and be a great lawyer I swear. Now go to bed
Expectation is the thief of joy… come into the cycle with an open mind, and you just might be pleasantly surprised. I can tell you, 100%, I felt more comfortable fitting into UMiami’s culture than ND’s (in terms of wealth and pretentiousness). My safety school turned out to be the greatest gift. Go Canes!
Graduating with my Bachelor’s a year early. I applied for the ‘21-‘22 cycle with low expectations due to inflated medians and an increased number of applicants; basically looked at it as house money. Now I’m using the extra year I would’ve spent on my degree to work and study for LSAT retakes.
I’m proud of you! This entire process is time-consuming, stressful, and exhausting. Whether you’re reading this at the beginning of your journey or near the end, I am proud of you. You are more than capable of getting this done. You’ve got this! All we need is one, but we will get more
¶Don’t underestimate how long it will take to finish applying, especially if you are tailoring each application to the school. ¶Take a step back sometimes and remind yourself why you are working toward going to law school, in the thick of studying and applying it will be easy to forget.
If I can do it so can you!!! Don’t let anyone rain on your parade!!! 🌟
