…this process hurt twice as much. Also, if you’re a reverse splitter like me, those softs can be the world. I seriously believe I performed the way I did because of them, because my LSAT sure wasn’t doing any favors lol

super splitters: apply ED!!!
update: :( my tips: don’t be a super splitter in the most competitive cycle to date apply as early as humanly possible limit your time on here + reddit some fun info about my app: wrote (probably too extensive mental health related) gpa addendum wrote very brief c+f (expunged misdemeanor) only wrote why x for mich…
…they will get to know you. I think this can only benefit splitters like myself. I have some pretty solid softs, I’ve worked in federal government and have been in the military for the past 9 years. If you have experiences that you believe set you apart it’s important to emphasize that in your application. I…
Being a “super-splitter” is terrible. 0/10, would not recommend. I went to a community college for a few years after high school and didn’t really go to classes, leaving me with a 1.2 GPA. After spending seven or so years working I went back to school and pulled out a 3.7. Shoot that shot. Apparently, shooting that…
Good luck! If you are a reverse splitter really try to have a memorable personal statement! I think taking a bit of a risk there paid off for me.
Wrote Why X for my top choices, optional essays, and did requested, relevant addenda. Splitter but had some decent softs, there is hope for you!
Apply early and be prepared to be patient as a reverse splitter. I took the LSAT twice and received the same score.
Apply broadly, especially if your a splitter. Got rejected by safeties and accepted by reaches. Worth the $45 now for the potentially of tens of thousands in the future.
Never let your UG GPA hold you back. Apply broad, aim for the 75th LSAT median and you’ll be successful. Good luck to all super splitters!

I will try and be as on top of these as possible! I am a splitter. I have very good softs and did a lot in college and a good GPA.
Here is my write-up with my thoughts and advice on how to approach applying to law school as a splitter: https://www.reddit.com/r/lawschooladmissions/s/tkQOwsLTRY
for future international students (esp those who are not URM): MAKE SURE you have an above median LSAT. as a “reverse splitter” at my target schools things were pretty tough for me, but i think my essays were solid enough to land me a few A’s. and if you can, apply as early as possible starting from October to avoid…
I know there is not a lot of info on super low GPA high LSAT splitters so I am going to document my journey here. Background Info: I took the LSAT once in June of 2024 and scored a 164- I also have a Paralegal Certificate that I obtained after undergrad and got a 3.66. Currently a legal secretary for the state for 2…
Just a reverse splitter trying to get into law school!
yolo My advice: Apply more broadly than I did, especially if you’re a splitter (like me). I should’ve mostly applied to T20-T30 schools with a select few T14s rather than mostly T14s. If I had another offer I easily could’ve gotten a stipend from Iowa. Take the LSAT as many times as you’re willing and able, aim for…
–apply early, esp. if you’re a splitter. –get those fee waivers. –get your target LSAT and then plan your cycle, rather than plan your cycle and assume your LSAT will fall in line.
Stealing this recap format from TroutLawyer, my fellow URM splitter! Going through this process as a STEM undergrad who never considered law school growing up, it always felt like I was drinking from a firehose. The lawschooladmissions subreddit and LSData are helpful for learning the ins and outs of the process,…
