Don’t listen to the people telling you not to be KJD (or in my case super KJD). They are right that you need time to prepare, but they are wrong in thinking that the clock only starts after you graduate. Take the LSAT as early as possible, apply as early as possible, and believe in yourself. A lack of work…

Admitted to Columbia University…with Georgetown. Don’t do this to yourself!!If you are a KJD: seriously, seriously consider a gap year or more, or some work experience. It doesn’t have to be prestigious, and it doesn’t have to be consistent. Every KJD I’ve known except one has massively underperformed their numbers, and it seems to only get worse…
…topics and I don’t think I should have done that. For KJD+1s - I did medical scribing for my gap year and while I think it was good interview fodder, I actually wish I would have taken my job hunt more seriously senior year and gotten a super cool job that I was proud to incorporate into my resume/essays. I…
…rec letters are a good idea! I included 2 as a KJD, and it has gone pretty well. Things I wish I knew: NEVER count yourself out! I thought about applying to Knight-Hennessy early on, and then thought I didn’t have a shot/that it was too much work. Regretting that now haha, I may have had a chance!- High-stat KJDs…
…the t3, i think i would have wondered about applying kjd. if you can take time off, and especially take time off and get work experience, it’s rarely if ever a bad idea to do so. i didn’t have a great reason for going straight through; i wanted to do the lsat while i was still in test-taking mode from undergrad, and…
Hello World, I will be attending law school at age of 20, Not KJD, and have one year WE.
…(made sure it flowed and had genuine reasons). Super KJD as I am a bit young (graduated HS early)
…I would apply much earlier, write a Why NYU, and not apply KJD. Work experience is so worth it.
Moral of the story is shoot your shot. I am super KJD (graduated at 19) and I’m not sure if that had any affect on my decisions. I don’t think it did so ¯(ツ)/¯
kjd noob t4 softs 225 bench press
…I think having clear reasons for Why Law and (as a KJD in particular) Why Now was real important. Good luck with ur cycles!
…staying on any WLs. Get your LOR early, but don’t apply KJD either! You’ll be better for at least a year of work/life experience.
I put myself as T4 softs because I’m KJD and most of my resume items are typical undergraduate activities: legal internship, lab research, TA position, and club leadership. However, I am a first-generation college student with 2 majors (STEM + business-related), which maybe helped me standout a little bit, but…
not technically kjd - im a year out of school but did not work during the year off
KJD but graduated from undergrad with BA & MA in 4 years. Withdrew from Stanford, Columbia, Penn, and Duke before receiving official scholarship offers. Did not negotiate for more aid from schools.
…for any schools that had prompts. Otherwise, very boring KJD who’s had a lot of luck this cycle :)
Multiracial: Half Black, half white, Work Experience: Attending immediately after graduating (KJD), but with two years full time WE in a team leadership position at an international company during college. Additionally worked two full time jobs over the summer. Academic info: Big mid-Atlantic state school undergrad.…
…was way too casual. Don’t try to be funny :( Re-applicant KJD 169-> waited a year reapplied with a 179 + one year work experience
