About & Wisdom
CoolGuy1O's wisdom
Dartmouth undergrad, 2 years working for a national public interest law firm, wrote essays about childhood bullying igniting my interest to support those marginalized.
I was hoping to attend UVA because I’m only a few hours away from Charlottesville. I had tons of friends from high school matriculated into undergraduate there and loved it. WL is fine.
I WITHDREW IMMEDIATELY AFTER NEGOTIATING FULL TUITION AT WASHU
Having gone to an Ivy, I incurred a lot of debt. I want my career to extend my expierence in PI. I really am over trying to go to the best school and I just want to go to a school I can see myself happy at and one that gave me a convincing scholarship. WashU did both of those things. The area in St. Louis was much better than I had anticipated and it felt like a home away from home.
Choosing to enroll at WashU Law was a strategic decision rooted in my commitment to pursuing a career in public interest law while minimizing financial burden. Securing a full tuition scholarship not only alleviates the weight of student debt but also aligns with my values of maximizing resources to serve marginalized communities effectively. By attending WashU Law, I can focus on honing my legal skills and dedicating myself fully to public interest work without the distraction of financial stress. This opportunity not only empowers me to pursue my passion but also enables me to make a meaningful impact on society without the constraints of looming debt.
In addition to its esteemed academic offerings and generous scholarship, WashU’s exceptional medical care facilities played a crucial role in my decision-making process. With looming health issues in mind, having access to top-tier medical resources was paramount. WashU’s renowned medical center provides not only peace of mind but also a sense of security knowing that I’ll have access to world-class healthcare if needed. Furthermore, the fact that I have cousins living in the area adds another layer of comfort and support, knowing that I have family nearby during my time in law school. This combination of outstanding medical care and familial support further solidifies my choice to enroll at WashU Law, ensuring that I can pursue my academic and professional goals with confidence and peace of mind.
