DSan's wisdom for future generations

LSAT
Diagnostic: 150 (+19 increase in 4 months of studying)
I worked full-time, so I used 7sage, studied for about 1-2 hours a day 5 days a week.

Took PTs once a week, then twice a week as test date got closer

I recommend stopping drilling and only taking tests at some point, I find over drilling can make you begin to overthink and doubt yourself. Confidence is key.

Optional
Northwestern: Why-X, Pro Bono

Michigan: Why-X, Historical Dinner

ND: Why-X

Vandy: Lived Experience

UW, Loyola, UMN: PS has WhyX requirements

Georgetown: 250word Essay, Optional Statement

Duke: Duke Essay #1

RESULT
Might have gotten the short end of the stick due to the cycle, but at the end of the day as somebody who isn’t too sure about the BigLaw life, I’m happy chasing money over prestige.

As for my choice in particular, I like the experience and clinic-based nature of UW Law, the location in the Midwest with the proximity to Chicago, as well as the potential to work in Wisconsin without taking the bar (which can transfer to other states after a period of years worked).

If you really needa T14, definitely retake the LSAT until you are in the low 170s minimum and consider reapplying next cycle if you don’t get there by Halloween. With the new test format and competitiveness of law school admissions in general, it’s only going to get harder to get into T14s and BigLaw in general from here on out.
