Apply to schools in order of last choice to first choice. This will allow you more time to find mistakes you may have missed in documents.
Apply as early as possible.
Don’t be afraid to retake the LSAT; your score might just surprise you and save you a couple of thousand dollars (or maybe tens or hundreds).
However long and expensive of a process you think this is, double the cost of applications and the time needed to complete them.
Contact law schools and ask for fee waivers. Explain your situation to admissions and why it would be extremely helpful. You could save up to a thousand dollars, if not more, doing this.
Find a school that you love and absolutely know you have a great chance at getting into. If you don’t get into your top choice, you at least know you’re going to a law school you will love!

I finally decided to attend the University of Colorado Law School. I love the outdoors, it is located where I plan to practice and specializes in the type of law I want to practice. While I arguably could have gone to a higher ranked school for a lower price, I want to live in Colorado for the rest of my life, and I feel that going to school in my dream location will outweigh the debt I will incur over the long run. Additionally, Colorado was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and has an enormous focus on student quality of life, requiring their students to gain real world experience before graduation, and getting student’s jobs that they want.
